  • Background

The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen Education Foundation is a Shenzhen 5A grade foundation established in 2014. The purpose of the Foundation is to provide financial support for the study and living expenses of college students; improve the quality of college education and the scientific research conditions; broaden and enhance sources of support for the University’s advancement.

The Global and Contemporary China Research Fund (referred to as the Fund below) aims to provide effective support for the long-term and sustainable development of The Institute for International Affairs, Qianhai of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. Drawing on the experience of domestic and foreign think-tanks, the Fund aims to create a powerful talent pool through wide support and sponsorship from enterprises and society. The Fund will provide objective, independent, visionary and strategic policy research, industry analysis and forecasting based on trend analysis in domestic and international affairs. In addition, the Fund will provide intellectual support and consultation for the strategic planning and long-term development of Shenzhen, the Greater Bay Area, and China.

The Fund aims to create a powerful talent pool through wide support and sponsorship from enterprises and society. The Fund will provide objective, independent, visionary and strategic policy research, industry analysis and forecasting based on trend analysis in domestic and international affairs. In addition, the Fund will provide intellectual support and consultation for the strategic planning and long-term development of Shenzhen, the Greater Bay Area, and China. The Fund will provide intellectual support for promoting regional sustainable development strategy research, national reform and opening policy in the New Era, and world peace under the international political dynamic; undertake national scientific research projects and social science projects in mainland China and Hong Kong, and provide feasible policy suggestions covering concepts and implementation for major national strategic decisions; undertake various research projects for regional and international organizations to enhance understanding of China, promote intellectual exchanges between China and the world, and encourage globalization.
